The latest title from fantastic Brussels publisher Triangle Books presents Robert Heinecken's infamous series Lessons in Posing Subjects, which he created in 1981–1982. Playing with the reality effect inherent to instant photographs, Heinecken teases out re-contextualises various tropes of commercial photography, juxtaposing the works with playful, ironic texts. Every image in this large-scale, stunningly produced book is meticulously spot-varnished, only working to further exacerbate the effect of the polaroid prints.
